it's the little things
the girlfriend and i have communication issues. today, when she called me, i didn't recognize the phone number (she wasn't calling from her office line) and she just started talking. i said, "i'm sorry, do i know you? who are you trying to call?" instead of saying, "hey, dumbass, it's your girlfriend," she said, "i'm trying to call you!!!!"
it took me 10 more seconds to figure out it was her.

I generally just answer the phone right off with "Who's this?!"
It's great phone etiquette especially when fielding calls from potential boyfriends and employers.

i recognize the voice but it was completely out of context and i was distracted by what was going on around me. just not used to hearing the voice without the caller id!
