no really, this one is truly sad...
my friend has a lot of cats and a dog. we love all of them. i just got an email from her saying that she had to put one of her cats down because she was having constant seizures.
i'm not normally much of a cat person. i have allergies, and i much prefer a dog who will kiss my ass instead of a cat who will stick its ass in my face. but hey, some cats are different. t's cats and i's cats are different. anyway, the kitty with the seizures was just about the most loving, sweet, good natured cat i'd ever encountered. just wanted to be adored. and she definitely was.
sometimes i'm glad i just get to visit the mammals instead of having one myself. i'm having a hard enough time adjusting to the thought of losing this cat, and she wasn't even mine.
what am i going to do when i have my own kids pets?
we'll all miss you, little nikita...

Seriously though, and as a cat person (even though my building doesn't allow them, grrrr), putting a pet to sleep is such a hard decision and experience. Nikita is lovely name, and I'm sure an even lovlier cat.
