oh. my. god. as a result of my laser hair removal fun on tuesday, i am now the proud owner of half a dozen patches of unbelievably itchy, rashlike skin. how gross is that?
i sit at work and all i can think about are inconspicuous ways to scratch my crotch? niiiiiice.
they say that this stuff is supposed to go away in three days or so, but come on, i look like i have growths on my face! and i have to go to a wedding on saturday! maybe i can avoid the photographer. after all, it isn't ALL about me. just most of it.
does benadryl work on this kind of stuff?

Posted by: ME at July 31, 2004 05:04 PMNow that sucks. Post a pic and maybe you can be the poster child for anti hair removal by laser

Posted by: musikchyck at August 3, 2004 06:51 PMStrictly speaking, it's not an allergic reaction, it's simple trauma. I've got really pale and sensitive skin, and the first time I had my eyebrows waxed- well, let's just say it was not pretty.
Ice might help some of the irritation, but that isn't always the most convenient. Consult your doc or whomever did the removal.
/med rant
Hope it gets better! SOON!
Posted by: Lachlan at August 3, 2004 09:20 PMactually, it turned out to be folliculitis, which i also got when i got my dragon tattoo. but it's going away, and doesn't look nearly as bad as it did over the weekend (when i got to see my entire family, but whatever).
but yeah, i get the swelling and inflammation after i wax, too! i was kind of hoping that i'd end all the skin irritation by getting all the hair lasered off.
Posted by: musikchyck at August 3, 2004 10:41 PMThat's good that it's getting better. Folliculitis ain't fun. :(
